I got married 6 days ago and am loving wearing my churra…incidentally i also bought mine from Patiala! It’s absolutely stunning and the bangles end just below my elbow. I’m already sad about the fact that I’ll have to remove them all in a week’s time before going back to work. In the UK, hospitals have a strict ‘bare below the elbows policy’…I get in to arguments all the time about wearing my kara…i’m not sure they would allow me to wear my chura on the grounds of infringement of my human rights

It’s nice to see that another full-time working women experiences the same frustrations as me. I got married to a wonderful Punjabi man on June 11, 2011. I’ve been wearing my Churra non-stop, everyday since then and though my mother-in-law told me I could take them off long ago, I’ve insisted on wearing them the full span. They are absolutely beautiful, but incredibly inconvenient when it comes to anything involving water. Congrats on your marriage and I wish you all the happiest in the world.
